Suffolk has been the focus of my life from my birth in Halesworth, secondary education in Ipswich, Curacy in Chantry and a lifelong allegiance to Ipswich Town Football Club. Kesgrave is the fourth Church I have been the Minister of, the others being St. Clare's, Ipswich, St. Mary's, Shotley and St. Peters, Copdock with Washbrook. Each has shown me that Suffolk people are a wonderful mixture of faith and doubt, joyfulness and sadness, success and failure.
My wife, Jenny, and I have been married since 1993. Jenny has three children, (Jon and partner Natalie live in Kesgrave, Andrew and wife Gemma live in Ipswich and Lucy and partner Peter live in Coventry). Jon and Natalie are the parents of our grandson Noah who was born in 2007. I have two children (Danielle and partner Mark live in Cambridge and Sian is at university in York).
My main interest outside my vocation is sport (mostly watching nowadays) and both Jenny and I are never happier than when we are at a live event together. Recently our relationship was tested by attending a cup match in London where her team (Chelsea) beat Ipswich 3-1!! I also enjoy participating in Fantasy Sport competitions on the internet and am particularly good at beating Americans at their own game of Baseball! Jenny and I are also very interested in Family History.
I am keen to take and relate the Christian gospel to where people are. Two examples that hit the media are our services at The Farmhouse in Kesgrave (Read the Story here: BBC web site) and a series of evenings we held on the Simpsons!
I would love to know your thoughts and questions on faith, Church and life itself; please email me, thank you.
